Glamourous Bath featured in WOI a few years back. I especially love that it is modern in an antique shell.....kind of like me.
I like to approach bathrooms and bathroom renovations in a slightly different way than others...assuming you have the room a bath should be as elegant as any other room of your house. Simple natural materials are always best. Marble is classic but tile will do if you don't have the budget.....always remember to do away with anything that might be just a little ugly......you don't really need to 'decorate' anything if it's well designed....and always edit, edit, edit.
I like that it is a room like the others (most likely) that just happens to be fitted with bathroom fixtures. That is always my philosophy, as space allows. __ The Devoted Classicist
ReplyDeleteI remember when you were teaching us drafting at Parsons and you gave us that bathroom to design.......mine was a steel wall with a marble tub and I had lots of blue and white carpets and very austere Directoire tables and a plush chaise...all I wanted to do was render and you ever so gently said 'Louis hardlines dear....but you don't have any problems'....haha...funny the things you remember.
